Mother's Day

What's Special About my Mom

She patched me up when I got a booboo

She would go camping only if we had something that was off the group—thus the popup camper… and I am glad… not interested in having a little critter crawling in…

She played badminton with us and we heard a loud pop, and thought she broke an ankle—but didn’t

She made me a breakfast sandwich when I was running late for morning basketball practice…

I may have thought she was hard on me as I grew up, but look at me know; thank you for raising me the way you desired…

I enjoyed that mom and dad took me up the aisle when I got married; was even funnier when they two played “who should be on what side”…

I am glad she didn’t decide to be a nun, because I won’t be here if she had…

Keep Me From Lying

While completing an assignment for my Communications Studies I ran into averse that jumped out at me..

Psalm 119:29 Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.

How often do we talk to ourself? Trying to convince ourself that what ever we are thinking, doing or saying is right. In some cases we are TRYING to convince ourself that a certain action and/or attitude is justified; these are the times we are lying to ourself and we are lying to God. Knowing His instruction is the means to keep us from lying to ourself.

The next time you realize you are in this deli ma, stop and seek God. Ask your self if this is what God wants you do....

Your Turn Signal

Hi,

I am your turn signal...

and I am feeling kind-of lonely...

you never use me or if you do its so infrequent...

I really wish you would use me...

I think the other drivers on the road would appreciated it too...

and so would I, I won't feel lonely anymore...

Thanks for "listening"

Devotion on Prov 12:1

Proverbs 12:1 To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction. (New Living Translation)

How appropriate for us as students... we have to love discipline or we would be consumed with anger/frustration/feelings of rejection when we receive feedback/discipline from our instructors...

To hate correction is to believe you are better than anyone else...

may we all stay humble..

So Maybe 2008 Will be Better Than 2007

2008 must be different than 2007, and to start with I PLAN on making a VALID effort to populate this blog.....

The last quarter of 2007 was engulfed with Introduction to Logic... and now that I have a grade I can say... It felt like I was taking a math class with those formulas...
when you look at the text book and you start wondering... and some of the examples were enough to scramble my brain...

it is over and I am happy to report I did get a good grade and enjoyed Christmas season...

Next on the docket is Communication Studies... first course for my major and I'm looking forward to it...
